Founded in 1929, the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo attracts anglers from all over the US. Regarded as one of the largest fishing tournaments in the nation, "The Rodeo" as its referred to locally, is the everyday working mans tournament. Anyone can enter, everyone can compete. It's a 3 day all hands on deck, fish, hang out, have a good time, listen to music, share fishing stories and participate in one of the biggest parties on the gulf.

The "Rodeo" offers spectators and anglers a unique opportunity to see species of fish, big and small from every depth of the water imaginable. From croakers to swordfish - anyone with a rod & reel and the willingness to wet a line can participate.

With over 3,000 anglers in the mix, the breadth of fish weighed in offers biologist a once a year opportunity to conduct some of the most expansive research of the year. All in one place, at one time, in what is considered one of the largest crowd sourced research projects in fisheries biology.

Come on down to the island, watch the weigh ins, listen to the live music, hang out with anglers from all around. You'll have a good time with good folks who love to fish.

It is located on Dauphin Island, Alabama (N30 15'31, 90" W88 06'47.78).
